TimeSight Systems™ Announces Migration Path to Networked Video and Storage Technology for Millions of Analog Cameras with ACe Encoder
Mt. Laurel, NJ, July 28, 2009 — TimeSight Systems™, the industry leader in Video Lifecycle Management (VLM), today announced that its Video Surveillance Appliance is now available with an Analog Camera Environment (ACe) co-processing feature. This new intelligent encoding feature converts video streams from legacy analog cameras into fully digitized network video streams leveraging surveillance-optimized H.264 digital video format. ACe technology allows users with a significant investment in analog CCTV systems to migrate into a fully functional IP based video network and benefit from the practice of VLM. One of the newest technology trends in the industry, VLM reduces the size of an image over its useful life based on risk, business rules and events, and provides savings of up to 90 percent on storage requirements.
TimeSight Systems Video Surveillance Appliances are the first to automate VLM.  By applying VLM policies to all video data, users can dramatically reduce their risk and storage requirements without sacrificing resolution, frame rate, or retention times. TimeSight’s exclusive Motion Optimized Recording (MORe) applies specific resolution, frame rate, and retention policies to motion and non-motion video, enabling users to store all video footage on less storage than riskier “Record On Motion” only techniques.
“The video surveillance market currently sees a growing trend moving away from analog solutions towards IP-based networks,” says Dilip Sarangan, industry analyst, Frost & Sullivan. “Network camera revenues expect to account for nearly 50 percent of all video surveillance cameras in North America by 2013. By integrating the strengths of TimeSight’s VLM and MORe with ACe, the company provides consumers a relaxed migration path to ensure the maximum return on their existing surveillance investments while they evolve to a complete IP-based system.”
“The video surveillance industry is rapidly undergoing a technology shift, but many companies aren’t ready to discard their existing analog investment,” said Charles Foley, chairman and CEO, TimeSight Systems.  “By adding ACe to our TimeSight Systems Video Surveillance Appliance, we’re allowing millions of current analog camera users to be in control of their migration-to-IP strategy and gain the benefits of VLM and MORe.  With TimeSight System solutions, companies are able to better determine their needs for how surveillance video is treated during the entire course of its useful life – while reducing their storage investment.”
The TimeSight Systems’ NVR with ACe is available immediately for new shipments and as an optional upgrade for existing users of TimeSight Servers.  For more information or pricing details, please contact TimeSight Systems at 856-206-9739 or an authorized TimeSight Systems reseller.
